Making the Most of the Experience

Announcements

  • Weekly academy announcements are typically sent via email on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
  • To be included, submit announcements as early as possible to allow for review and approval.
  • Announcements submitted after 10:00 AM may be excluded from pre-chapel announcements.
  • You may send announcements via email to Rebekah Goode or text them to 540-541-8226.

Academics, Evaluations, and Grades

  • Students will receive evaluations and final grades at the end of the semester or year, depending on the teacher’s grading schedule.
  • Parents are responsible for awarding final grades and credits on high school transcripts.
  • Parents may supplement, adjust, or average instructor-provided grades as needed.
  • Students and parents must ensure that coursework, assignments, quizzes, and tests are submitted on time.
  • Ongoing communication with instructors is essential for academic success.

Building Use

  • Only assigned classrooms should be used during academy hours.
  • The sanctuary is off limits unless otherwise stated.
  • At the end of the day, all rooms must be left as clean—or cleaner—than they were at the start of the day.
  • Parents should take initiative to ensure students respect and care for the facility.
  • Parental help with cleanup, facility monitoring, and end-of-day responsibilities is essential and appreciated.

Making Copies

  • Use the copier provided in the RSHA office for short-run classroom copying needs.
  • To avoid overburdening West Salem Baptist Church, use the copier responsibly and in moderation.
  • Report low toner to Pete so it can be replaced promptly.
  • Misuse of the copier may result in limited access or removal of the machine.
