Geometry (9th-12th) 2 Hour Course

"Geometry with Math-U-See" offers students a comprehensive exploration of geometric principles covering shapes, lines, and angles in both two and three dimensions. This course is designed to develop students' critical thinking skills and mathematical reasoning through a structured study of area, volume, the Pythagorean theorem, congruence, similarity, coordinate geometry, and an introduction to trigonometric functions.

Course Overview:

  • Structured Learning Approach:
    Students begin each chapter at home by reading the instructional manual, viewing Math-U-See's teaching videos, completing the first worksheet, and preparing questions for in-class discussion.
  • Comprehensive Coverage of Topics:
    The curriculum includes detailed study of key geometric topics such as area, volume, congruence, and the fundamentals of trigonometry.
  • Interactive and Supportive Learning:
    In addition to weekly classes, students have access to virtual discussions and problem-solving sessions with the instructor to enhance understanding and address individual needs.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    After in-class meetings, students complete additional worksheets and a focused test each week to reinforce learning and assess progress.

This course is delivered using the Math-U-See curriculum, known for its clear, innovative teaching methods and hands-on learning approach. Students are required to have access to a computer and internet to utilize the online resources effectively.
