Elementary Science: Zoology (2nd – 5th)

Put on your safari hat and prepare for an amazing adventure through God's creation! In this elementary science course, students will explore the fascinating world of land animals using Apologia's Exploring Creation with Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day. From powerful predators and playful primates to dinosaurs, reptiles, insects, and worms, students will discover the incredible variety of creatures God created on the sixth day. Through engaging lessons, hands-on activities, experiments, notebooking assignments, and classroom discussions, students will develop a deeper appreciation for God's design and creativity in the animal kingdom.

Course Overview:

  • Explore God's Amazing Creatures:
    Study mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, dinosaurs, and other land animals while learning how they live, interact, and thrive in their environments.
  • Discover Earth's Biomes:
    Travel through jungles, deserts, forests, farms, and other habitats to understand how animals are uniquely designed for the places they call home.
  • Hands-On Science Activities:
    Participate in engaging experiments and projects such as identifying animal tracks, exploring camouflage, investigating depth perception, and examining owl pellets.
  • Notebooking and Observation Skills:
    Students will record observations, complete creative notebooking assignments, create mini-books, and develop important scientific thinking and note-taking skills.
  • Biblical Worldview:
    Learn about animals and ecosystems from a Christ-centered perspective while recognizing God's wisdom, creativity, and purpose throughout creation.
