Discover the incredible complexity and purposeful design of the human body! In this high school Anatomy & Physiology course, students will explore the structure and function of four major body systems using Master Books’ Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology 1. Through a biblical worldview, students will investigate how the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems work individually and together to support movement, circulation, breathing, communication, and overall health.
Students will complete assigned readings and coursework outside of class while class time is used for instruction, discussion, review, demonstrations, activities, and reinforcement of key concepts. The course provides a strong foundation for future studies in biology, nursing, medicine, physical therapy, sports medicine, health sciences, and other healthcare-related fields.
The materials fee will help cover classroom supplies, demonstrations, hands-on activities, printed resources, and other consumable materials used throughout the course.
Coursework: Students should expect approximately 30–45 minutes of at-home coursework per day, five days per week, including assigned readings, worksheets, quizzes, and other activities. Completing assigned work outside of class allows classroom time to focus on instruction, discussion, demonstrations, review, and hands-on reinforcement.
Curriculum Note: The complete curriculum pack includes Wonders of the Human Body, Volume 1 and the revised Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology 1 Teacher Guide. Families purchasing the complete curriculum pack do not need to purchase the Teacher Guide separately.
Optional Lab Resources: Additional hands-on activities and demonstrations may be incorporated into the course as appropriate. Master Books also offers optional laboratory resources separately.
