Music is even more enjoyable when it is shared with others! This String Ensemble course is designed for students who can read music and want to develop their skills in a group setting. Students will learn how to play as part of an ensemble, follow a conductor, blend with other musicians, and perform a variety of sacred and enjoyable musical selections. Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to use their musical gifts to encourage and bless others while growing in confidence, musicianship, and appreciation for the gift of music that God has given us.

Course Overview:

• Ensemble Performance Skills:
  Learn how to play with other musicians, follow conducting cues, maintain tempo, and contribute to a unified group sound.
• Sacred and Enjoyable Music:
  Rehearse and perform a variety of sacred pieces and uplifting selections that are both rewarding to play and enjoyable to share.
• Music Reading and Technique:
  Strengthen music-reading skills while continuing to develop proper technique, rhythm, tone, and musical expression.
• Performance Opportunities:
  Students may have opportunities throughout the year to perform for family, friends, church gatherings, and community events.
